I know apples are nutritious,
but how can I get my children to eat more of this healthy
food?
It's no secret; kids can be finicky eaters. A little
creativity can help. Try a few of our favorite tips:
- smear peanut butter on sliced apples
- slice apples into small sticks making it easy to
hold in tiny hands and fingers
- cut into cubes
- add thin apple slices to children's ham or turkey
sandwiches
- try cheese and apples (similar to cheese and crackers)
where you simply slice up apples and top with your
favorite cheese slices.
How long do apples keep?
According to the U.S. Apple Organization, unbruised
apples, handled and stored well, can last as long as
90 days!
How can I slow a cut apple from
turning brown?
By dipping apple slices in a 1-part lemon juice to 3-parts
water mixture, you can slow down the browning process.

are apples?
Apples are fat, saturated fat, sodium and cholesterol
free and an excellent source of fiber. For more nutrition
information, check out our Nutrition
